Not too many things in my cellar sneak up on me. This is one. A gift from a friend, this was put on a lower shelf and forgotten. Pulled it on a cold Monday night. Saw Loire red and expected Cab Franc. Opened and poured and saw light garnet and started wondering. One taste of this Pinot was enough to send me to CT to see what I really had. Light PN with bright fruit and a surprising citrus bite. White pepper, a bit of Old World funk. Overall a delightful wine and a pleasant surprise on a Monday night. Will have to send a much-belated thank you note.

Well well. An almost new worldish nose leads to oh so mineral, just so bloody quenching body and lovely, lovely aromas of Meyer lemon, herbs, framboise. Tannins completely resolved. Finish is not long, but that's fine. So fun to drink, it did not last long. Delicious.

Light, dull red. Char, tart red fruit. Light weight, more earth than fruit, high acidity. Too dry at this point. Better a few years ago.
To my surprise, it showed more red fruit and citrus after being kept overnight. Maybe it's not as dead as I thought.
