Today’s ‘11 Scarrone V.V. once again proves the benefits of buying in magnums, having just tasted the same wine from bottle less than two weeks ago. That experience was fantastic, but it showed a much darker, richer and sweeter expression, while today, the 2011 was a bundle of energy. Here I found crushed black cherry and plum sauce with brown spices, cinnamon sugar, and lifting sweet herbal tones. On the palate, silky-soft textures washed across the senses, guided by vibrant acidity, with saturating sweet cherry and spice in a fleshy yet highly appealing and energetic expression. The finish was zesty, spicy and long with resonating dark red fruits and the slightest hint of heat, yet not overbearing at all. It’s a beauty.

Some Recent Notes; 4/11/2016-4/16/2016: Young. Cherry - from the red to black. with time - more cherry liqueur. mid is full of ripe cherry but also a serious structure to it. hints of bitter chocolate and dark fruit. chewy finish with smoky spice. excellent.

Lovely and polished bouquet of vanilla, spice and herbs.
Needs a few years to show its complete potential given the persistent tannins and largely dry finish.
Will certainly progress considering the tightly wound fruit, licorice and cedar currently available but destined for enhancement, in comparison to the precise aromatic fragrances currently showing.
