Full garnet color with clear rim; nose of fresh ground stone, autumn hay and ripe cherries with a hint of fresh paint (not off-putting but interesting); some silkiness (not as much as I'd like) but good acid cut. Mature secondary flavors of fine burgundy with good length. To call it a food wine is no insult. Would be wonderful with duck breast.

Paulée of the Albany Chapter of the Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin (Le Canard Enchainé, Kingston, NY): Mature, but still full of ripe fruit. Very long and spicy finish. This is really good.
