Somewhat surprised by the good state of the wine. Opened and drank immediately. Wine was starting to fade, but showed well. At first nose was faint, but developed over 30 minutes. Some floral notes, cherry more pronounced as wine opened. The power and chewiness that I expect in a first rate merlot was still present. I am sorry that this was the last bottle. My hats off to Fred, Sally, and Andy Schweiger.

($40) Sweet fruit nose with a touch of chocolate and cigar box adding interest. Not as concentrated as the Pride 97 Merlot but more complex. Just a hair lighter in body. Very impressive. 175 Cases. Thanks to the saleswoman at Dean and Deluca.
