Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Arnaud turned me on to the fact that menu pineau did better in 2003 than many of the other white grapes of the Touraine. In this bottle, insomuch as it is menu pineau certainly makes a case for that. It has the richness that you would expect, but the natural nervosity of menu pineau was present. Not quite waxy, but certainly rich yellow fruit, honey, flowers with a bit of mineral on the finish. Call it medium bodied. The wine is a bit hazy and tastes really naturel and I would advise letting it sit for a bit if it has travelled. Should do well for a few more years, maybe more, I don't really have experience aging these wines.
