Orange zest, fresh, intense summer flowers, sandalwood and steely minerality on the nose. Maybe some warm shortcrust pastry. Wonderful butter fudge note on the attack. Then the sandalwood and the flowers again. On the second glass there is a massive juiciness that’s arrived. Almost like orange without the sweetness or acidity. Although a good experience, I think it may have been better a couple of years ago.

Pours a star bright, deep gold. Slightly oxidative with petroleum on the nose upon opening that quickly faded following a two hour slow oxidation. Orange rind, citrus blossom, polished steel, sandalwood, buttered pastry, and honeydew melon form the nose. The palate mirrors the nose in every possible sence when it comes to flavour profile yet lacks the same level of expression and intensity. This is by no means a disappointment since there’s still good mid palate density, a pleasing waxy texture, and respectable length on the finish.

Wow, from a visit to the winery, got to met Paul Vincent, he said the 2003 red all sold, but suggested several buyers in US. Did have the blanc, so bought three bottles. Cork slipped out almost too easily, but the wine, now old, without freshness, was still very good. Nice flavors remaining of the white varieties. Definitely time to drink up. Yum.

Mid gold. Lovely aromatic nose. Ground almonds, flowers. Into a tertiary phase. Somewhat oxidative. Hazelnut, almonds, unripe banana, stone fruits. Smoke. Fair acidity. Long. Lovely.
