  • The wine is clear and bright with medium ruby colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of red fruits (sour cherries, strawberries, red plums), pungent spices (liquorice), flowers (roses and hints of violets) and hints of pyrazine. The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has high coarse tannins and a high warm alcohol. It has a medium(+) body and medium(+) intensity flavours of ed fruits (sour cherries, red plums), pungent spices (liquorice), flowers (roses) and hints of pyrazine. The finish is medium.

It is a very good quality wine. It has a nice fruit concentration and a decent balance between alcohol and tannins. It shows some degree of complexity provided by floral and spicy notes, but it is not enough to consider it outstanding, and the finish could be longer. Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and fruit concentration to develop some more complex tertiary aromas over the next 5-8 years.

  • Ordered a bottle over dinner at Il Cavallo Scosso in Asti.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of sandalwood, toasted vanilla oak, coconut, earth, and faint roses. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol, dry puckery high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of vanilla oak, sour red cherry, tea leaves, spice, and earth with more air. Long finish.
Very good quality. This needs time to integrate and develop. Give this serious Nebbiolo d'Alba another 4-5 years.

  • Gourmet Traveller wine nebbiolo tasting (8 Danks street, Sydney): Horse sweat, leather, mushrooms meaty with dried flower top notes. In the mouth the wine is juicy with slight plum and more dominant meat notes accompany hefty tannic grip with a touch of alcohol heat on the finish. Nice but needs a lot of time.

  • Quite, dark, clear with slow legs. Nose: light and elegant. Sweet blueberries. Taste: quite sweet of low acidity. Nice tannins, nothing stands out. Balanced. Great drinkability but I prefer more frim tannins.
