This is just starting to come around. Double decanted for 1.5 hours, recorked, and then pulled cork again for another hour after driving to a friends house for dinner. So 3-3.5 hours of total air time prior to drinking. Really, really good. Deep strawberry and cassis on nose and pallet, very subtle oak with BdM dry earthiness that compliments the fruit so well. Secondary flavors just starting to peak out and tannin and acid have resolved. I'd say this is just at the beginning of a wonderful decade long window that could see some improvement for more aged Brunello drinkers. I'm looking forward to future drinking with this in my cellar.

Super dark ruby color. At start funk on the nose, that took a while to burn off. Once it did lots of complexity arrived. Primary notes of black fruit - blackberry, purple plum, and then secondary and tertiary fun. Leather, spice and meats along with some sage. Really quite a lot to enjoy here, but it takes some time to arrive. On the pallete its medium alcohol, medium+ body, medium acidity, pronounced dark fruit flavors and tannins are already nicely integrated. Good but not spectacular length. Overall well balanced, nice complexity and decent length finish. Nice. Going to try on day 2 and see how it has evolved. In the past I have been a little skeptical of this Brunello - fancy bottle, heavy hedonistic rep - and am not entirely convinced yet. But this bottle gave me pause. More to come.

Boom! Wow, what a wine. Definitely needs air time but not so sure I go with the up to 8 hour count, though maybe I missed the best of this one (in which case, can’t wait to try the next few in the case). This is big, but very together. And mine came in a fabulous box (3 bottles in each), with the same image as on the bottle covering the box. This wine is a real treat.

Full bodied and good tasting, but not very Brunello-like.
