Pinot tasting so wanted to bring a Burg that leaned towards new world keep people on their toes, and everyone did guess new world. Slightly darker fruits and made in a more extracted and oakier style. Still drinking very youthfully, with air it became more elegant and Burg-like.

This is just starting to come out of an awkward period but shows some of the herbal/rose petal impressions from the whole clusters along with lavender, violet, sage, raspberry and strawberry aromas coupled with noticeable oak both on the nose and palate. Spicy, suave palate feel with good fruit but appropriate acidity. The oak does comes through on the finish and there is a slight hint of torrefaction char/coffee that comes through on the midpalate that I find less than appealing. Good fruit though and it appears to be aging well. 90-91.

Vin Chicago Pre-Holiday Tasting and Sale (Vin Chicago - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting. Red cherry on nose and palate, still very bright and vibrant with faint earth adding complexity. Mineral textures on finish are classically Chambolle. Very good Villages level wine.

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Charming combination of spice, red cherry and floral notes. Slightly modern with oaky spice, but very good balance and good length.
