  • Raw and polished. Dirty and elegant. Energetic and complex.

The Matassa DNA is just shining so bright. That special fruit combined with VA and perfumes. It’s always there. Here, combined with elements from the aging.
Incredibly fresh on the nose offering blooming rose bush, blackberry-blueberry compote, sweet cherry, rose hip jam, roasted sesame, spruces, nostril-cooling peppermint, fresh and wet wild growth, hints of raw mushrooms, sun dried tomato, dried herbs and white pepper. You can smell the balanced VA followed by mineral notes of gravel and stones (like when you enter an ancient ruin in summer - dry yet slightly moist).
It’s medium-bodied, dry with very refined tannins and a refreshing acidity. Lots of blackberry, bitter cranberry juice, wild strawberry, black tea, licorice, dried paprika, sour plum skin, roasted sesame, hints of miso and mild VA. Finish is long and mineral with a green cluster-touch as well.

  • Too much brett here to get a better score from me. Evident aromas of farmyard / stable, in addition to some smoke.

  • Natural wine made from 80-100 years old vines. Blend, 90% Grenache and 10% Carignan. Ruby red colour. Aerated an hour in decanter. Stall, smoke and dark fruit on the nose in the beginning. More accessable after some time in the glass and more savoury fruit shows up. Fresh and young red fruit on the palate, hints of rhubarb, spice and tar. Complex and well balanced. Nice acidity and very good length. Served with homemade burgers.
