Modest aromas and flavors of cherry, cedar and smoke. Initial depth to the nose. Everything thinned noticeably after approximately one hour, but up until that point was a very enjoyable wine. Henri's last vintage; Jean Nicholas finished in the cellar.

More herbal nose, softer mouthfeel and redder fruit profile than the 90 jean Gros richebourg it was paired with. Interesting hint of gunflint. Just an incredible pair of beautiful wines.

At Tru for our 15th anniversary dinner. Really nice nose of forest and spice. Follows through on the palate. Can't say I got a whole lot of "asian spice" but definitely old burg. Ready to drink with little tannin left. Medium bodied and nice persistence. If I had to score 92 to 93. Excellent with the roast duck.

Long lunch with Alex, KH, 7, Mun, Gary, Cary and DF (The Principal): stylish and complex with hint of uncle J magic.
