Sineann Block One Cab (02 -12) plus some others (My Home): Purpkle in color, but flat. This started off weak and disjointed. With air it really came together. Tart cherries and tarragon on the nose. Medium bodied. Some heat on the finish. Frankly, I expected more until I went back a few times. After about an hour it started to show it stuff. A lighter more red fruit profile Cab.

A wonderfully complex bottle of wine with explosive flavors on the tongue and a full spectrum palate of fruit, mushrooms, chocolate, sweet anise. Sadly, a single bottle bought at auction, the label said $60, but, who knows what it cost as a part of a larger lot of mostly Chardonnays (why include this?). None the less, this was an extraordinary bottle which was decanted leaving a mass of gooey sediment and some chunks and yielding a dark liquor of deep purple. I normally don't cotton to Cabernet, but, this was a wonderful example of it as its best.

Wow. As opposed to my recollection of previous 2002 Block Ones, namely, tight but good, this was ready for business right away. Nose of dark fruit, mushrooms and a hint of stewed meats. It added body and complexity as it got air, truly a beautiful wine. Glad I've got some left. The wife scored it 95.

Deep nose. Ethyl acetate blows off quickly. Dried flowers and tobacco. Dark cherry and sage notes are juxtaposed with mocca and anise. Medium palate with an oily quality, but seems to be a bit compact and shallow.

Nose of vanilla, dark berries and chocolate. Big up front with a little bit of a hole in the mid palate. Good finish, big chewy tannins. Needs more time still imo. Good stuffing here.
