I would say this is early prime time. Impressive. Developing more slowly than the Nigl Privat. Nice cut, light gold, lithe, with good intensity. Maybe just a tad foursquare.

Dinner at Lampreia (Seattle, WA): Purchased from the list at Lampreia. When first opened this was quite reticent. However, after 15 minutes the bose simply explodes with honey, hints of smokey mineral, canned peaches, and very ripe melon. In parallel with the nose, the palate just showed minerals at first with clear body. However, with air the oily and intense palate explodes, showing salty minerals, and sweet, ripe, honeyed fruit. The finish is long, salty and lightly bitter on the finish. Fantastic showing. This has opened up considerably in the last year.

Lots of oil and patchouli on the nose. Big shoulders and very bulky in profile with more petrol, mead and herbal notes. Clunky and stuffy overall.

My first foray into an awesome Austrian tasting (Seattle, WA, USA): The nose is chalky with a hint of white grape juice. The palate shows awesome minerality with a saline quality. A hint of sage on the finish. This really grows on you. Beautiful wine.
