  • Leaky cork. Completely oxidized

    Sjovt at prøve.

  • From 75cl good cork, decanted 1 hour (hardly any sediment, some crystals on cork). Fat, raisiny-sweet, sugary-pure, dark, rich, uncomplicated. Like an Amarone made in Australia; in fact it does taste remarkably similar to a D'Arenberg Laughing Magpie, but – alas – without the acid-interest, Viogner-perfume or Shiraz-complexity and grip. I promise never again to respect a wine rating by Luca Maroni (who gave this a ludicrous 99P) 86-87P

  • From 75cl, OK cork, decanted 1 hour. This tasted best well under room temperature, shortly after opening. As it warmed up it became more and more generic, like a super-clean Primitivo/Amarone/Salice mix rather than the "99 point" (Maroni) Aglianico the ridiculously overweight bottle so loudly proclaims. Big, sweet, figgy, pure, monolithic, dark, über-ripe blackberry fruit; hard to believe it only has 13,5% alc., feels like 2% more. No hurry. 89-90P

  • - Brick color with fast forming legs and aromas of chocolate, black pepper, black currant and cherry. It's in total harmony and has flavours of cherry, black pepper, licorice anise and vanilla with a full body. Round texture with a long finish - Double decanted 3 hours. Still a very young wine. Slight mint finish too. An excellent wine that can sleep in the cellar for a long time.
