2nd of 2 bottles from recent auction purchase. This bottle showed just as well as the 1st bottle. Not the most complex Syrah, but integrated and harmonious on the palate. A real joy to drink. Bumping up the score to 91.

1st of 2 bottles from recent auction purchase. Really a very pure, integrated, lovely, new world Syrah. Middle of the road in every aspect and showcases the fruit so nicely without overuse of oak or amped-up acidity. Yes, as MOTZ notes, not the most complex version of the grape, but the varietal character/terroir shows so transparently. Still seems to be in its prime drinking window with no hint of advanced age, just beautifully integrated. Good stuff.

1998 - 2015 Syrah tasting Flight 2 - the 4 wines in this flight were singing. Nice fruit here with a touch of pepper citrus acid profile and some musk keeping it interesting.

taste: big full and jammy feel with anise, black currants, black cherries, and pepper tones
overall: this is going after the Alban style of syrah and it kind of works. Big full bodied flavors that are ripe, this is an excellent syrah with its nose and feel providing a anise based attack and pepper finish

Quite lively, even at 14 years. Not the most complex, though certainly enjoyable. Best with food.

connoisseur wines new world and new additions fall portfolio (Vivere, Chicago IL): nose: pungent and jammy nose filled with anise, black currants, black cherries and pepper tones. Almost full throttle, but holding back a slight bit
