Drank in a pairing with Duck. Th duck was served together with arthichoke purre with some truffles. Glazed pears. Gently fried kale. And a sauce from the fat, boiled in honey, cinnamon and anise stars. Exceptional! Great last supper in 2023!

This is a lovely bottle of solid red Premier Cru Burgundy. Considering the price, this is a phenomenal steal. Everything you want is there: Fruit; oak (in balance); impact; finish. In today’s crazy market for fine Burgundies, this is very much a rare gem to be discovered. Will age gracefully given the wonderful balance of ripe fruit and savoury acidity.

Chez moi. Popped and poured. Scents of earth, spice, creosote and black cherry on the nose. Fairly rustic, ripe round palate, with a saline and earth quality that adds complexity. Ultimately too ripe for me. In 2012, I prefer the NSG VV village wine to his premier crus, as the texture and red fruited nature of the wine work better for mine.

Tannins were very drying- too austere. Underlying black fruit was pleasant, but not enough to make it good.
