No notes taken, but this was generally consistent with my last note except there was no sign of VA. Everyone preferred this to the '01 Chevillon NSG it was flighted with.

Tasting Group Dinner - Miscellaneous (Heidi's, Minneapolis): Slight VA on the nose. The palate is big, loose, and open, with lots of coffee and dark fruit flavors. Nicely ripe, but thick and a bit chunky. This packs a punch but isn't especially elegant, in contrast to the 2001, tasted side-by-side (see TN).

Wednesday at Heidi's: This was showing really well immediately after opening. Tasted ~1 hour later it had faded a bit. The exuberant nose features a melange of red fruit, spice, mineral and coffee marred ever so slightly by some VA. On the palate this shows a bit tart, but has great flavor that expands nicely on the palate. Balanced. Tannic. A bit short on the finish. An enjoyable wine, but ultimately not worth the going rate locally.

This is showing as quite lovely, rich black cherries and a little forest floor/mushrooms, balanced acidity, light fine tannins, good length. Even a friend who generally dislikes Burgundy quite enjoyed. Drinking well right now, though no hurry. A-/B+

(Chevillon Robert Nuits St.Georges Chaignots) Dark ruby colour with very little fading. Deep, pronounced nose of primary black cherry. The palate is rich, soft and polished with impressive depth, velvetty tannins and pretty good acidity. At first I thought this was a little short, but it's not, it's more a slight hole in the mid-palate. A little too polished and not quite 'fresh' enough for further purchases chez Nanson, but could very well be described as 'hedonistic' in some circles - perhaps I'm more of a masochist :-)
