  • Bright aroma of ripe cherries, rose petals and violets, a touch of forrest earth and green pepper. Acids medium+, texture is velvety, and acids soft. Finish is medium with slightly lingering. Fruit driven and quite easy to drink. Good concentration and balance.

  • I got a small "preview" taste of this because I was at the right place at the right time with a distributor packing his wares at my favorite local shop, and the owner thought this would be right up my alley. I do have a soft spot for Mondeuse and had never heard of this producer before but was pleasantly surprised. Lots of crushed rocks and alpine herbs on the nose with a rustic mineral-laden chewy fruit midpalate and abundant but suave tannins. Infanticide for sure, but this is surprisingly generous and fruit-driven for a Savoie. A nice wine, but IMO a bit pricey at around $30. I'll take all the Bugey I can find at about 1/2 the price.
