Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 95.5 points

  • Smoky, tobacco, leafy, complex tertiary notes. Some fruit remains on the palate. Good structure and balance. Quite good and holing up well for a wine of this age. 94

  • Stunning old Art Deco label on this one - and still in fine shape too. This trounced the 1920, which was a pleasant wine but nowhere near as compelling as this. This is very aromatic with the sort of scents you could call perfumed. The fruit has the apply, orchard flavors that were pretty consistent throughout this flight, but it comes across more layered and as it sits in the glass it adds all sorts of other interesting things, most prominently a very deep and evocative taste of cigar tobacco that just appears to lace the wine all around. It's the texture, though, where this comes across especially classy - it's just pure silk in the mouth.
