Coravin fun - Bordeaux (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas of biscuit, sweet spice, red hued fruits, a little blood/iron note. Red hued fruit on the palate has a slight green underpin, tannins also have a touch of greenness to the them. Having said that none of this is out of balance with these red fruits.

Coravin fun - Leoville Barton; 3/8/2022-3/15/2022 (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas initially show slightly dusty red fruits, a little mint...as time passes it starts to show a lot of earthiness with a pretty red cherry underpin and a touch of meatiness. Juicy, wet, cherry, slightly herbaceous, talc textured tannins are very slightly green. Quite lightweight. Hmm.

Purchased in Bordeaux over the summer and drunk for Xmas 2021. No formal notes. Had this straight after the 2013 Langoa Barton and the similarities were striking, but this had a degree more purity and deeper cassis fruit. Still quite youthful. A touch of mahogandy and cedar as well. Excellent wine. Scored at 94pts in the moment (the magic of Xmas), objectively probably about 91-92pts.

Sunday lunch at KC's (KC's place): Initially closed on the nose but, with time in the glass and some agitation, it shows blackcurrant, plum, a little cassis with a slight herbaceous underpin, a little rhubarb, new oak. In the mouth it's wet, savoury, fruit saturated tannins have the texture of coarsely ground flour, young and very, very long. Lovely.
