I think this wine has evolved quite a bit since the tasting notes below were published. The nose is less floral, and a bit more barnyard (gravel, earth), but the flavor on the palate is nice with some acidity and structure, berries, chalk, mint. After an hour is really started to open up and hit a good stride. We enjoyed this for the price

Evaluating Bouchard Père & Fils: 2012s and earlier vintages (Ripple Restaurant in Washington D.C.): Another negociant based wine, that is Bouchard makes it from grapes it purchases from growers. Not as successful as the Gevrey Chambertin, as it has more of a rustic feel. Nevertheless, as Ben Giliberti of Calvert Woodley commented over dinner: "This would go well with a steak on a grill" and I agree! It just lacks the refinement of the Gevrey Chambertin, and is to me the weakest of all the 2012s we tried this evening.

2012 Bouchard dinner with Panos – Mostly Bouchards (Ripple Restaurant in DC): Crunch red fruits, cranberry and strawberry, flowers and Corton dust. Medium concentration, crunch red fruit driven palate impression, bright acidity, noticeable tannins and slightly bitter finish. Quite enjoyable.

Lengthy finish. Gripping tannins. Needs some more time in the bottle.
