Deep ruby, still quite primary on approach. On notice some more tertiary character with red fruit, cherry and hints of balsamic. Lovely curl and tension on palmate. Tannins very fine with red fruit, chewy, some umami and herbs. Finished a little light but overall a neat wine from an average vintage.

Quite a lot of Chianti (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Evolved, maybe this hot vintage wine is falling apart a bit quickly? Spicy and slightly volatile, blandly sweet and flat on the palate. For balance, others round the table really liked it

Last bottle from my 2012 case. I paid £18 for this wine back in 2015. Rock solid 91 at over 10 years old with an extra point for the QPR. One of those wines that I should really buy every vintage and stash away as it ages in the short to medium term so well and delivers much at a pretty good price point. Lovely sharply focussed cherry driven Sangiovese fruit here with a little hint of age to further enhance the wine. Very tasty Chianti Classico which delivers great value at the beginning, middle and end of its life.

(Fontodi Chianti Classico) Medium ruby color; aromatic, tart cherry preserves, raspberry puree nose; delicious, lively, tart cherry, raspberry palate; good now and should go 30 years; medium-plus finish (100% Sangiovese)

Dans une très belle fenêtre, tanins fondus, superbe nez de cerise et cuir... longueur moyenne...
