  • Again, cork was crumbly and moist all the way through. Still, the wine didn't have a cork taint. It's just gone faint by now. Hardly any taste or smell left. Astringency, yes.

  • Had a suspicion bottle was flawed: the cork was wet and crumbly almost all the way through. But so far, 30 minutes after opening, the wine doesn't show any cork taint or signs of oxidization.

Color: cloudy brick-brownish red, still rather orange towards the egdes.
Nose: red fruit, fresh, next to no alcohol burn. A hint of herbal notes.
Palate: Very light acidity. Some sweetness on mid-palate, slightly astringent. Medium-bodied in texture, but somehow watery in taste.
Finish: Medium length. Acidity, red fruit, astringency. Maybe pepper.

  • Parker is dead right about this wine. I think it was at its peak and is fabulously delicious.
