Pop and pour. Notes from 24 hrs open. On the nose: pineapple, meyer lemon, a kiss of vanilla. Large scaled on the nose and better put-together today than yesterday. On the palate: fantastic acidity, and richness, soft ginger, meyer lemon, and wet stone. Some tangy citrus and a long finish. Needs a lot of air right now, so wait a while on final btl (even though this is a ripe '17!).

First bottle from a half case purchased from the Belgian importer in 2020. Decanted for three hours. This wine is not really at ease with itself right now. The fruit centres around ripe apple, and the palate is quite structured with lots of bitters from the skins, but the whole thing does not really come together and it certainly does not display the magical blend of finesse and gravitas I am looking for in this wine. No obvious errors, just not "bien dans sa peau". Conservative score.

The texture of this wine is excellent, a light but substantial “polished” feel to it. Succulent fruit, well balanced with tension and minerality. This is a super 1er on par with Chartron’s grand crus.

A big wine, with a touch of reduction and some oak, but handled extremely well. This is round and with a touch of sweetness on the finish (which I think is from the oak that hasn't quite integrated). Blind, most guessed this to be Batard or 1er cru Meursault. As someone once noted, this is a bit of a baby Chevy, so I can understand the winemaking here - the density can handle the oak; there's a lot of acidity here that I think will be brought into great balance as this ages. Already a very good wine, I think this has tremendous potential.
