Decanted for 90 minutes prior to pouring. Essence of black cherries, peppercorns, pencil shavings and ripe plums. Deep garnet color. Wonderful layers of black cherries, cocoa, plums, blueberries, cedar and toast. Terrific mouthfeel and a long satisfying finish. A delightful wine that was well worth the wait.

Decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, blueberry, currant, mocha, cedar and spice. Black and blue fruit, mocha, cedar, spice and fine tannins on the palate. Very long, layered finish. Full bodied. Served grilled Waygu and Gruyère burgers.

As I normally do, I drank half the first night after an hour decant. Transfer half tyo a split and refrigerate for next day. Day 1: Lovely wine, great BTK profile, but lacking in intensity. 10 second finish at best. This edition was a couple points higher a few years ago. Had Ahi tuna steak tonight. 93 Day 2: More pleasing: richer with soft tannins, blackberry, anise. 20 second finish. Had BBQ chicken with this. 95 In sum, I liked this wine more with BBQ meats and more so on the 2nd day. A great 10 year old wine. Glad to have purchased on release as I'd today's post release-post Covid inflation $250 bottle price is clearly not worth it.

My last bottle. Enjoyed over 2 days. Solid on both. Dense and chewy with mouth puckering tannins.

14.8% abv. A fine wine, but it never delivers on the promise suggested by the nose.
