Bright colour, cherry red no browning. Nose has matured and broadened since last bottle two years ago. Palate is even better. Sharp edges have rounded out and the fruit has come to the fore. Lovely freshness and balance. Classic Classico. In a good spot now. Good match with chicken livers green beans and pappardelle.

DnP. Dark red, still red edge, 5.5. Generous nose, red fruits, spicy sweetness, green stuff to match the sweetness. Elegant palate, firm tannin, good acidity. Drink now - 2024. Good QPR

This wine surprised me after it had been open for three days. The first and second day it was relatively harsh and uninviting. If I had finished it I would have rated it in the low 80's. But today, with one glass left, I found it soft and full and very pleasant from start to finish on the palette. I think many wines are drunk before they have properly matured, and this is a good example. The 2012 Poggio Scaletto Chianti Classico could sit for another year at least. If you find some just put it away for a year or two and then open it up. It is not Barolo or Brunello, but with plenty of oxidation it was very enjoyable.

Correct, still tannic, good length but very angular even with pork. Try the rest tomorrow.

Good correct Classico. More fruit came out with time in decanter and the acidity complemented tomato and rocket pesto tart. Enjoyable
