Last bottle tasted in 2020 was doing very well and youthful. This continues that theme. There is now some age on the rim, but this is still a wine that seems like it has further to go. Very dark, intense nose of scorched blueberries, taste of smooth berry fruit with good tannins. Now with food, or wait a little while longer.

Super tasty Merlot, Seavey is brilliant and this Merlot shows espresso, black cherry and plum, maybe dar chocolate, and wet soil. The tannins are lovely, the acidity is just right. A very nice Merlot. Drink through 2023+.

Deep dark center, red/purple rim with no real signs of age. Grapey/leafy nose, cut hay, blueberries and raspberries. Smooth cherries and pipe tobacco, cocoa, sinewy, good acidity, more modest tannins, nice slightly vegetal finish. Seavey suggests early drinking, and it does well with food now. However, it has the qualities of a wine that will last longer. I can see this improving over the next few years.

Last of 4 bottles. Dark plums and berry fruit, coffee grounds, bittersweet chocolate, and spearmint. The wine is medium in body (14.2% abv), showing chunky tannins and balanced acidity. A very good wine, but probably better values in this wheelhouse at $43 USD. Drink now through 2020+.

Bottle 3 of 4. PnP first night, and had the remainder the 2nd night. Plump plum and blackberry notes on the nose and palate, with some mocha and earth to make the wine interesting. Nice and open-knit, the tannins are supple, with perfectly balanced acidity. This wine is drinking nicely now, and I will consume my remaining bottle by 2019.
