This was the opposite experience for me as a recent bottle of 2009 Morgan from Brun. This really appreciated the bottle age and it has it now. The relatively extracted texture that this producer is known for. Tertiary aromas. Still a lot of free room. Excellent finish. I couldn’t have been happier with this.

Notes of violet, raspberry, mineral, earth and tar. Biting acidity that overpowered the fruit. Not a whole lot of depth. Complemented Easter dinner but was lacking on its own. Surprisingly flat compared to the powerful James or the aromatically complex Javernieres. Perhaps too youthful.

This is a dark-colored, deeply-tasting and serious wine. It is lively acidic and medium/full-bodied, with strong and inviting aromas and flavors of ripe red and dark berries, juniper needles and smoke. This is not an as fruity and powerful wine as the Cru Beaujolais wines of Desjourneys, but it is a very convincing wine anyway.
The wine is ready for drinking now, but it will probably evolve and improve with cellaring for some time.

Dark fruited, dried out black rose, old wood. Touch blackcurrant, punchy tannins, old died out florals
