  • This wine is amazingly fresh with great fruitiness. It's a bit closed after sometime and reopen with more boutique. Mainly red fruits and oak with sweetness. Sharp yet comfortable acidity provides great balance for its tannin. This wine deserves 10 more years for integration in cellar. Not recommended to drink now but it has great potential

  • This wine took the show (for current drinkin) in a tasting of all the major 85s we had in the late 80s, where Sassicaia and Sammarco and Solai took the show. Drank my last botle last night, not expecting it to have survived. What a surprise. Fully resolved. Sweet, spicy, reddish -blackish fruits. Some aromatics and secondary notes. Surprising presence considering my impressions of its youth and the uneven development of the 85 vintage. Warm, rich fruit, good weight and richness on palate, shortish finish. Those who enjoyed with me really enjoyed, and thinking how this wine held together after 22 years and would show better than many of the top wines in that vintage -- quite an impresive effort.
