This bottle was substantially better than the last one we had almost 3 years ago. I felt that there was way too much oak coming through on the previous bottle, but the oak was much better integrated on this one. The oak treatment is still noticeable, but it no longer stands out and tarnishes the balance of the wine. This paired well with chicken cacciatore. No hurry to drink the last bottle, should be good for at least a couple more years.

While there is luscious fruit, the oak is a bit overpowering. My downfall may have been drinking this wine without food, which likely would have tamped down on the oak. Would love to try this in another year.

This bottle was a gift from Sandro when we visited Viticcio in 2011. Now, 4 years later, on a snowy and frigid winter eve, it brings me back to the warmth and wonder of Tuscany. Deep purple in the glass, with ruby edges and magnificent legs. On the nose, after an hour in the glass, are aromas of fall flowers, harvest fields, and cedar trees. The palate is rich and ripe with blackberries, currants, and distinctive oak. The acidity is significant, but not overpowering; a perfect complement to red sauces with a Valentine's dinner feast. Luscious tannins express themselves over the fine finish that enrobes the tongue. Grazie, Maestro!

Consistent with previous notes. Solid bottle of sangiovese. Lasted about 3 weeks on the enomatic

Great fruit, but the oak is still too dominant. Further storage recommended.
