Intensity medium(+). Floral notes, blackberry, blueberry, plum, black cherry, cedar, smoke, laurel, pepper. Acidity medium. Tannins medium. Long finish. Very pretty upon opening. After a couple of hours the exposure to oxygen brought the wine somewhat out of balance, which was exacerbated the next day.

Exceedingly suave with smoky black cherry fruit and silky soft tannins. It was incisive, developing additional layers of flavour including dark chocolate, mocha & prunes. Complex, yet still fresh, ending with a super lingering finish.
Most critics are agreed that 2013 is not a great red wine vintage in Bordeaux, yet this completely defied the odds. In fact, I had previously tasted a bottle of 2013 a few years back and was equally impressed. Perhaps the fact that I had little expectation (again) I found this to be a rare treat.

Would love to taste this in a good year. Slightly abundant fruits, tannins relatively balanced, powerful. Lacking some finesse. Good now but will improve

1-020. 2013 was the first year I bought Bordeaux en Primeur - knowing it wasn't the best vintage. We recently drank the 2006 - what a difference with 2013! Compared to 2006 this 2013 was flat; it smelled better than it tasted. Scrubland, eucalyptus, blackberry, cherry. Not bad, not entirely worth the money either.

Bright red fruits with a fresh, crisp quality and a touch of herbs are what you'll find in this medium bodied wine. This will be best in its youth before the fruit fades.
