THAT Super Village (Yan): Lovely bouquet of violets, wild strawberries and cherries. Palate ensued with soft red fruits, pretty florals with regal elegance. Lovely experience this was and would be interesting to see how it further develops.

Villages-theme'd dinner. Decanted for just ~1-hr prior to serving (blinded), in a flight of '12 Rousseau Gevrey & '01 Dujac MSD. This was most floral amongst the 3. Some scent of stems initially, but this was soon overtaken by a melange of raspberries, cherries, strawberries - truely a potpourri of berries! Silky with nice fruit-intensity, this exuded elegance as well. It further unfurled thr' time in the glass, showing even better as the evening went by. A very nice Chambolle by Mugnier, and it should even improve with more bottle-age, going by how it (not only) held and improved over the course of the dinner...

Very well balanced and integrated tannins. Silky and quite refined with that Mugnier nose of cherries and hoisin which develop further given an hour or so of breathing in glass. Medium complexity. I feel the fruit is not as forthcoming as I would have liked on the palate but maybe due to the vintage. Think I prefer his NSG Marechale on this showing Especially given the QPR

Tasted July 22. Delicious, but the bottle may have lost some top fruit. 89p

Aromatic, light and pretty. Not a ton of depth, but very elegant.
