  • Easy drinking but not overly complex. Hints of dark fruit and plum. Mild tannins and little spice. Not bad for the price.

  • Nice Zin but different from most. Very red berry forward flavor with a big dose of licorice/anise in the nose and middle. Slight finish; wine opened well as it sat and probably should have decanted for an hour.

Tasted July 23, 2006 at home as part of the Wino Depot Tasting With Friends for July. Opened an served immediately in a Spiegelau Authntis Rot Wein glass. Garnet color in the glass, slightly dusty looking throughout. Nose of potpourri, dried cherries and dried berries. Flavors of black cherries, black licorice and sweet red cherries. Light to medium acidity, light tannins. Fairly well balanced. Not a great wine, put certainly quaffable. PURPLE commented it was one dimensional as well. Based on the local retail price we paid of $9.99 I’d say the value here is acceptable.
