We had this blind narrowed down to a high alcohol central coast blend along the lines of Saxum. This was rich, polished, but surprisingly well balanced and a lot of fun to drink. I think it should hold a bit longer than some SQNs I’ve had that risk falling apart around age 10

Rhone Birthday 2022; 11/4/2022-11/6/2022: A fun wine not in my typical preferred style. Flamboyant and polished but impeccably balanced. Hides the high alcohol very well though there's a little heat on the very long finish. Darker fruit profile, with subtle interwoven pepper and grilled meat notes. Powerful, yet polished and lush, with an incredibly long finish, and impressive depth.

Black cherry and currant with background cassis, licorice, black pepper, cloves, all supported by a charming sense of perfume. Wonderfully fresh for its age. Excellent weight and density. It is frankly amazing that wine weighing in at 15.8% alcohol on the label can be this well balanced. Still possible upside?

Pop and pour. Absolutely delicious, soft, bold Syrah from the master. This is right in the window and showing magnificently. No rough edges at all and the pure, palate-filling Cumulus fruit is as good as you'd expect. Bravo!
