Under screw cap and a magnum. Kept very bright and fresh, some struck match which diminished with air. Green and yellow. Red apple, some lemon, bit of light smoke. Good acidity. And rounded out too, fair length. Very easy to drink now. Fine.

Pale light greeny yellow. Green melon nose. Consistent with a bottle three years ago, well past the bracing shrillness of its youth and showing nicely green fruit, a slight florality, and a good minerally line. Attractive. ***1/2

The first bottle from the case was painfully shrill a couple of years ago, but this has rounded nicely in the interim, still mineral-edged and bright, but now balanced and really quite interesting in a modern Meursault way. A clear step up from the previous bottle. ***1/2

Very pale, just a hint of dilute straw. Lightly floral, but largely neutral nose. Lime cut to the attack. Some mineral grip through the mid palate, but relatively lean and a little spikey. Lacks the mineral grip and bite of Chablis, but certainly aiming at the clean and fresh end of the Chardonnay spectrum. A little underweight and lacking interest, but would work well with oysters. *** [on day 2 it's improved — less spikey and more harmonious. 88]

Bought this at a great price of $24.44 on Cinderella. Liked it better than my last bottle, but just isn't as great as I had hoped given the reputation and pedigree of the estate. Not sure I'll seek this bottling out again. Maybe just not a great vintage for the wine?
