Fresh and bright Valpolicella. Red fruit on the nose and up front, cherry mostly with some strawberry. Medium to full bodied, moderate tannins in the middle but mostly dominated by the acidity that really gave it a young feel. Very pleasant wine, but must be paired well with something fairly fatty to balance the meal.

Colour: dark cherry fading to brick Nose: stewed strawberry, sour cherry. Dried muscatel grapes. Touch of balsamic vinegar. Green peppercorn, sweet spice, cinnamon, old oak. With air, meaty/salami character emerges. Palate: strawberry stewed in balsamic, sour cherry. Dried muscatel grapes. Lots of red berry fruit, savoury, sweet spice, old oak. Lots of tannins --smooth fine grained, slightly drying. Fresh berry like acidity. Rich. Full bodied, though not as full bodied as Amarone. 14% alcohol. Very nice.

3rd Deals Gastronomy Fair; 3/29/2015-3/30/2015 (Grande Bretagne Hotel, Athens): The wine has a clear bright red color. The nose is clean of medium intensity, ripe red cherry and strawberry, alcohol biting a bit, nutty, coffee with a few peppery spices too. The wine is dry, medium body and intensity, medium acidity, medium tannins, red cherry, red berry, strawberry, med+ in the concentration, tasty and pleasant, could work well on its own, medium coffee infused finish. Very good quality, drink now but can hold.
