  • Cork. 15% alc.
    Decanted 4 hours.
Blueberries abound upfront. Dark chocolate, sweet spices. The palate is full and mouth filling, but elegant. There’s plenty of sweet fruit, but it’s also savoury in its own way. Crazy balance and complexity. A wonder. Looking good tonight.

  • Another unfair pop and pour, but it was that kind of an evening. This continues to evolve at a glacial pace, with a blend of black cherries, currants, and port-like oxidative notes and sweetness competing with brambly cab franc, and firm tannins bringing in an almost-but-not-quite mouth puckering finish.

  • I like to drink with almost as a dessert wine. I like it with a slight chill at the end of the meal or as an aperitif. I have had it with a very rich and fatty meat that worked as well. An amazing 1 of a kind wine that is a must try, hopefully with someone else buying!

  • Sappy boysenberry aromas are apparent upon popping. Notes of fresh oak and saline are backed by notes of white pepper and spice box. The wine is at once sweet yet plenty of savory elements are present to make it interesting. Huge upfront attack of sweet and brooding dark fruit bordering on cloying. So much like an Amarone with its dense and sappy profile. I think the two Cabs offer more sweetness than traditional Valpolicella grapes. My wife says it's like a sweeter yet more Italian version of a Napa Cabernet. Right now I'd say it needs more time, and at the very least a could decanting. So much sweet fruit yet the acidity makes itself known on the long finish. I feel sad the bottle is empty as its life ahead is long.
