  Developed and rather powerful nose with ripe strawberries and cherries, meat juice, some leather and other animal notes, rust notes, spice and some oak, as well as some green notes and dust in the background. Medium bodied, medium(-) fruit concentration of red berries, quite spicy, the tannins give a rather dry impression, with a tannic and somewhat dry aftertaste. Quite lovely nose, but has dried out on the palate and doesn't quite have the fruit to balance the tannins - has possibly seen a bit too much new oak. I don't see how this could improve with further cellaring. 87 p
