  • Beautiful expression of these varietals. Subtle and complex.
Continued to improve as the wine warmed from cellar to room temperature.

    Tasted December 15, 2008.

13.65 alcohol. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about an hour or so. Yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of apricot, wet stones, acacia flowers and lychee. Flavors of quince, minerals, apricots and a some lemon zest on the medium finish. Medium acidity. Light to medium body. Drink or hold. Last bottle and it was the best bottle.

  • A mature wine with apricot, melon, and citrus notes, along with a touch of smoke. Preferred it a bit more when it was young, but an outstanding example of a mature R/M blend.

  • What a wine! Upon opening this had a blocky, monolithic quality that needed lots of time to relax. Developing secondary characteristics that are even better the second day (half bottle left open overnight--serious decant!). Nose of dark, bitter Italian arbutus honey, watermelon rind, and even a little fennel pollen or anise. Mouth feel is smooth and rich with just enough acidity. Even though the grapes are different, reminds me of a well-aged Condrieu. Slight sweetness in flavor profile that beguiles the deep earthy flavors of tropical fruit and citrus. Following this depth the finish is almost etherial and light. What a dance! Give this bottle time to open (or cellar longer?) and you will be rewarded.
