Bought at the domaine in '13 or '14 and purposely saved all that time to experience an aged Sancerre from one of the top producers. And boy was I not disappointed.
Broken cork :-( but from the get go it shows a beautiful nose of lemons, white flowers, smoky/flinty, quite intense. On the palate this wine shines: Soft silky lemon cream, a bit of hay, nuttiness, pear drops and an intense minerality packed in a perfect texture. Very delicate and refined with a good acidity. This shows how gracefully Sancerre can age and develop into something very special.

Medium gold. Blossom, mineral, citrus & vanilla/toast nose. Similar palate plus petrol/kerosene. Medium acidity. Well balanced, long finish. Drinking well, still not sure (as per RP) that it will last until 2030.

1st bottle oxidized, 2nd bottle much more what you would expect; mineral in the nose, strong chalkiness with apple and lemon. Excellent definition; palate has a lovely supple quality - again, has that tension and verve which mark these single vineyard crus from Vacheron. Very mineral with good matiere on the finish. Lovely. Good for current drinking but will hold.

This wine needs loads of air. At first very closed. After 2+ hours in the decanter it showed it’s colors. Mineral and lemon. Fattier then the standard cuvee. Hold for a couple more years.

We did an old world and new world Sav Blanc. Both brought different things to the table and were equally enjoyable. This one showed more minerality and a clean acidty.
