Wonderfully pure, clearly a mature Raveneau but still with excellent acidity and characteristic Chablis minerality. Great with oysters on New Years Eve.

Raveneau 1er Cru Chablis Vertical Blindtasted ('83-'96) (Palo Alto, California): Group's #3 (my #6) – 56 pts; 2, 4, 2, 0 – Light medium canary yellow color; sexy, fresh lemon and white flower nose with a touch of honey botrytis; sweet citrus, vanilla, cream and botrytis palate with a creamy texture, but more like a Puligny than a Chablis; medium-plus finish 90+ pts.

Aged Raveneau- Blind: Blanchot Vertical, 1990 Horizontal (Tom's House, Palo Alto): Clean pure nose with lemon-lime soda; palate is balanced, nervy acidity. An excellent wine with just enough uniqueness. My #3, group's #6. 94
