From the same auction lot as the Rouvière 1985 and Pibarnon 1987 tasted recently. Pristine bottle, level into neck, perfect cork. Medium colour, lovely, warm and lively, bricky red core, wide orange rim; remarkably fresh and youthful nose, vinous, with estery raspberry fruit, spicy and cedary, slightly dusty, lifted but not volatile, metallic whiff; the palate is transparent, on the lighter side after 31 years, remarkably fresh and bright, with light but grippy tannins (not nearly as tannic as the Rouvière 1985 from the same domaine); light finish but good length.
