Blackberries, dark chocolate, baking spices on the nose. Very nice fruit and drinking perfectly now. Very elegant Cabernet. Nice acidity on the back-end. Will hold for several more years. Don’t think I would guess Cali Cab in a blind tasting.

30 minute decant. This seemed like a seemless and well-aged California cabernet that went amazingly with a new york strip. Tobacco, red fruit, savory earth notes, smoke.

Opened a couple hours plus prior to dinner, did a small pour and slow oxed in btl. Semi opaque dark magenta-purple red. Smokey dark fruit, tobacco leaf, and creosote nose. A little bell pepper in earlier nose & glass. Scorched earth Pessac like with savory berries, herbs and a little dark chocolate on the palate. 13.5%. Resolved and with leaner, less ripe fruit, best drank up within the next year or 2, IMO. A successful, soulful wine in a less than stellar vintage for most Cabs. kudos to longtime winemaker Jeffrey Patterson! My last of 4 btls and one of the best values in CA BDX blends. Even current vintages can be sourced in the low $30s. Killer value for one other original CA cult producers who is still following their own muse.
