Earth-centric bouquet of cherries, forest floor, and licorice display advanced bottle-age maturity. The palate is rustic, savory, with fine-grained tannin and white pepper complexity. I was underwhelmed, especially considering its level, but it's not surprising, given the inconsistent and difficult conditions of the 2009 Brunello vintage. This is a near-term drinking wine.

Good. Not built for the long haul like some of its pricier nieghbors but tasty none the less. If there was a generic typicity for Brunello, this could be its poster child.
