The bottle was uncorked and let to breathe for a whole afternoon until dinner. At dinner, the wine was quite bad, not undrinkable bad but not enjoyable : in mouth the first flavor was strong quite "minty" and very overpowering (85ish on the first day). I decided to let this one rest recork it, and open something else and hope for the best.
The next day : I tasted the bottle the next day in the afternoon and it had so improved. This initial overpowering "bad" taste/flavor was gone and the wine was very balanced, quite fruity however a bit "dry" in the finale (93)
Conclusion : 85 the first day (6 hrs of air in open bottle), 93 the next (+ 24hrs in closed bottle). I hesitated to put this one in a carafe in the first day, and that was a mistake. LOTS of air needed for this one before drinking it.
Fascinatingly more St Emilion than Mitjavile - the exact opposite of most TRb. That said, after 2 hours open it plumped out and was really impressive. Certainly the best bottle of the case - one left. Seville oranges, still good acid, and long. Will keep, but I won't keep it. Drink up, for my taste.

We love his off vintage wines probably more than the top vintage ones. And this 1993 ( a special vintage for us and one we hunt down great examples of it. Which is not easy or cheap) was no exception. Well evolved, earthy, still very much alive and with a nice leather feel. Round, silky tannin but also presence and all brought together by a classic and singing nose. Excellent especially its a 1993. 94 from us and a joy now and we would not wait for more.
Medium ruby with significantly fading edges. Sweet spiced nose, peppery, and fairly ripe blackberry. Palate seems somewhat lean, with tart cherry, pepper, cloves, and brine. Medium length and complexity. Generally good but I’d have expected more from such a cult vigneron
