A bit thin and dried out when first opened. With about 3 hours the fruit cam out a bit. Still thin and acidic, but a vein of mature flavors that proved quite satisfying.
Bottled in a 0,72-liter bottle. This is "Barolo Juta", aka. the bottle is wrapped in a burlap pouch. 13,5% alcohol. Tasted half-blind.
Hazy orange-red appearance of rose hip soup. The nose feels vaguely sweet, but otherwise nigh nonexistent with subtle, reticent aromas of ripe raspberries, some sweet red cherries, a little bit of meat stew and a hint of tar. The wine is dry, firm and medium-bodied on the palate with relatively ripe flavors of cranberries, some earthy spices, a little bit of sour cherries, light funky animal tones and leather nuances, hints of cooked strawberries and rose hips and a touch of tar. The wine is enjoyably high in acidity with resolved, textural and quite silky tannins. The finish is dry, long, and somewhat tangy with flavors of leather, sour cherry bitterness, some meaty umami, a little bit of crunchy cranberry, light notes of tar, a sweeter hint of dried dark fruits and a touch of tobacco.
A nice, balanced and fully developed Barolo. The nose feels somewhat disappointing, but otherwise the wine is performing really nicely right now. Nothing super-exciting for an old Nebbiolo, but nothing to complain either. Won't develop anywhere from here but down, so better to drink up sooner rather than later.

Took to a dinner after finding in my cellar. Have no idea where I got or when. Took it as a lark. Had my doubts. Turned out to be lovely.
