From 75cl, impeccable provenance, good cork, decanted off powdery sediment 15 minutes. Initially a faint but attractive wild strawberry scent; closed, tired, dilute, sweetish taste; no tannins, low acidity, no finish. But after 1 hour the scent has all but disappeared, and the taste is roughly what I would expect from a fully mature old-style Rioja Alta—Vina Ardanza perhaps, say from the 1980s or 1990s, with decent redcurrant fruit, some oak, but no distinct pinot character. Lousy value at the 65 EUR paid. Drink up. 87P

Second bottle of three (first drunk in 2015). Similar notes - medium weight, sweet fruit on front palate but nice sweet / savoury balance, fine and ripe tannins, very enjoyable.Softened since first bottle.

Far from mature, but still highly enjoyable, with a nose of violets, tart red berries and bramble. Textured and robust on the palate, with the youth of the wine reflected in crisp, clipped flavors that should round out and lengthen in 2-3 years’ time: cranberry, raspberry, orange peel, smoked meat and spearmint.

Lovely, classic Gevrey wine. Lots of intensity, concentration and enjoyment. Very good for the vintage. Love it.

Great at first with rustic fruit character. 2-3 hours in it died a little.
