See my March 2020 notes. Delicious, jammy, black and blue fruit. Herbal notes upon opening, blow off after about 30 minutes. Full bodied with nicely integrated tannins. Drinking very well now.

Freemark never disappoints, even in an off year. Ostensibly a blend of left over fruit from the Bosche’ and Sycamore vineyards, this does in fact represent characteristics of both. Dark indigo in color. Aromatic with notes of damp leaves, mushroom and cedar. Black and blue fruit on the palate with a hint of the eucalyptus Bosche’ is known for. Very full bodied with a lingering finish. Nicely integrated tannins provide backbone. Yes there is a hint of of the green vegetable quality prevalent in the 2011’s but it is more tolerable in this than many others.

Great pairing with prime rib and Thanksgiving company. Slightly acidic, with smooth tannins and a delightful long finish.
