  • Decanted for an hour. Medium garnet. Expressive nose of cherries and tomatoes leads into tobacco, clay, leather, and espresso notes with some time. The palate is incredibly balanced with fruit, earth flavours, acidity, and fine tannins. The finish is beautiful with a lovely minerality that brings this one home. Not sure what possessed me to spend so much on a Chianti, but this is a pretty spectacular wine. Looking forward to seeing how it develops further with time.

  • Perhaps just entering its preferred drinking window, this profound effort displays the color, intensity of aromas and concentrated fruits consistent not only with a very careful selection in the vineyards, but also one that's so well lifted as to dance on the palate. The persistence is substantial now, but if/when this grows into its skin (say another 7-10 years), it'll be even more considerable. As with all of Paolo's wines, the balance here is front and center, it's on point. Pricy, but many wines worthy of their Grand Cru usually are. Drink 2018-2035. highly recommended

  • From magnum. Dark berry fruit, spices, earth, smoke, herbs on the nose. Lots of depth and complexity. On the palate spicy, fresh with lots of ripe fruit, a firm tannic structure and Impressive length. Wonderful. 95-97

  • The nose was dark and almost sensual, showing a mix of rich raspberry and cherry, followed by notes of plum, savory herbs, tobacco, hints of forest floor and mint. It was savory on the palate with silky textures contrasted by a spine of brisk acidity, resulting in a toothsome experience with dried cherry, exotic spice, tobacco and a hint of citrus. The finish was long, yet structured with dusty tannin, showing dried red fruits, spiced orange and mountain herbs.
