Shared with M&D. Almost black in the glass. Terrific syrah nose of pepper and dark fruits with road tar and mild green olives. Very much in the Northern Rhone style, but sweeter, and resolved tannins create a seductive mouthfeel. At peak or just past, drink sooner than later.

This has really come together nicely. More of an old world Syrah with with medium+ body, herbal aromas, spice and fresh acidity. Stands out on its own but also goes great with a meal.

Deep Purple, Medium meniscus. Nose of plum, blackberry and cherry with secondary notes of vanilla, cocoa and gravel. Palate confirms and adds a bit of fig and cola nut. Dry, balanced with medium acidity and fine tannins. Long, flavorful finish - drinking very well now.

Nothing remarkable about this wine. Muted plummy flavors, smooth tannins. Maybe we get to used to big edgy blockbuster types to not fully appreciate more subtlety produced Syrahs like this.

Smooth & silky tannins. Cherry & plum on entry. Cherry & prune on the mid. Lingering prune & cherry on the finish. Opened an hour before drinking, held up very well for the next 2 hours. Loved the chewy-ness of this Syrah!
